Basic Digital Photography
Taught by professional photographer – Kim Bates.
This will be an 8 hour course, 4 – 2 hour sessions, that will introduce students to the world of digital photography. We will discuss basic photographic principles to help transform your ” snapshots ” into interesting, creative, and artistic photographic images. We’ll talk about many different photographic styles and techniques; everything from landscapes to portraits, abstract to still life. There will be time for one on one instruction with your camera to teach you more specifically how to use it, and assignments to see what you are learning. The course is suitable for ages 13 and older. Materials needed are your digital camera, your camera manual, and your creative self. Please bring 6 – 8 recent printed photos you have taken. They can be 4 x 6 or larger.

“Photography eternally records an instant that will never be exactly the same again. It is the art of seeing, interpreting and expressing my vision so that it connects and involves my viewer emotionally. I aspire to create curiosity and intrigue, and to encourage wonder and speculation.”
