Elm Street School of Music strives to train musicians by the book and off the page! With standards that represent a blend of the latest and greatest in music education methods, Elm Street School of Music utilizes curriculum established by leading musical institutions such as the University of North Texas, the Austin Classical Guitar Society, and Berklee College of Music. Instructors work to incorporate both the ‘street smarts’ and ‘book smarts’ of music – something essential to the modern musician. We find that an emphasis on actual performance, expressive understanding of music, and interpretation provides the student with a more profound understanding of music fundamentals.
All lessons are taught by actively performing musicians and college-educated music instructors. Students from complete beginner to advanced are welcome. Lessons are highly individualized towards a student’s learning styles, but they share the goal of creating a “complete musician.” A complete musician can read, transcribe, communicate and express themselves through music. At Elm Street School of Music we strongly believe in the social assimilation of music – breakthroughs happen only when we communicate musically with one another, rather than alone in our rooms!
